PTA: The Holiday ShoppeWyomissing Area’s annual Holiday Shoppe was held on Saturday, December 7. Each year, the PTA sponsors this event in the Wyomissing Hills Elementary Center building to give students and their families the opportunity to hand-make Christmas gifts for their friends and family.

This year’s crafts included reindeer washcloths, succulent jars, slime, candy whisks, various ornaments, lighted garlands, and mason jar tea lights. Students from K-4, led by Mrs. Main and Mrs. Foo, sang holiday carols as they walked through the halls, and raffle baskets were auctioned off in the All-Purpose room donated by grades from the elementary and middle schools.

Parents from the district volunteered at craft stations and in the raffle, while students from the high school volunteered their time as elves, helping kids make crafts throughout the morning. Noelle Seyfert, a first-grader in Mrs. Larkin’s class, said that her favorite part of the Holiday Shoppe was “seeing her friends and making slime with them.” The slime, which came in three different colors was the most popular craft among young children. Adeline Cosentino, a seventh-grader, enjoyed “all of the different choices of crafts because they were all really fun and creative!”

The PTA would like to thank all of the members who devoted their time to creating such a special event as well as the parents and students that volunteered their time to help make it extra special.
