School Counselors

The Wyomissing Hills Elementary Center has two school counselors serving the needs of students, parents/families, teachers, and other stakeholders. Mrs. Molly Cheslock works with grades K - 2 and Mrs. Rebekah Stem-Zmoda works with grades 3 - 4.
A school counselor has a master's degree in school counseling and is certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). They are trained in human behavior, relationships, career development, and child development. The goal of a school counselor is to help students meet academic, career, social, emotional, and personal needs, and to help remove barriers to success. School counselors follow the standards set by American School Counselors Association (ASCA) and PDE.
The WHEC School Counselors teach classroom guidance lessons, small group counseling, and individual counseling. School Counselors may act as a liaison between home and school, refer parents/guardians to resources in the school, and provide connections for parents/guardians with outside support agencies.
Our School Counselors consider it a privilege to work with the elementary students in the Wyomissing Area School District.
